Essi's Ballroom Dance Studio is very pleased to have the talented Mack MacKenzie join our fantastic team of dance professionals.  Mack is known throughout the area for his fun, upbeat dance instruction and showshopping live performances.  His recent performances include the Ballroom Extravaganza, Dancing With the Savannah Stars, and The Nutcracker ballet.

If your New Year's resolution includes learning to dance or learning a new dance, check out our Argentine Tango group class beginning January 4, 2012.  Essi's Ballroom Dance Studio will once again offer this fun and popular program.  Join your friends (or make new ones!) every Wednesday at 8 PM; the cost is just $10 per person.  This class is suitable for beginning or advanced dancers and you don't need a partner to join the fun.  Contact us for more information and start off the New Year dancing!

Essi's Ballroom Dance Studio professionals performed in the 2011 Dancing With The Savannah Stars Competition.  This annual event pairs professional dancers with local celebrities to raise funds and awareness for CASA.  CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteers are advocates for abused and neglected children and are the child's voice in the legal process.  This year's events raised over $85,000 for this worthy local charity.

Essi's Professional Dancer Joseh Marion Performed with Savannah Star Dr. Katy Moretz.  Joseh and Katie took home the mirror ball trophy as overall fundraising winners.  Congratulations and job well done!

It was yet another amazing showcase event for Essi's Dance Studio!  As usual the event was held at the elegant Savannah Ballroom at the Marriott Riverfront.  The evening included cocktails, a wonderful dinner, dancing for all, 12 student performances, and 6 professional performances.  We enjoyed the company of good friends, were entertained by the show, and danced the night away.  Much thanks to our wonderful hosts Ebi & Paula Illami, master of ceremonies Ralph Smith, music coordinator Rory Hood, Videographer Jay McNeely, and Photographer John Alexander.

As always Essi's Ballroom Dance Studo had a strong showing at the annual Ballroom Extravaganza.  This wonderful event is organized by our very own Garlana Matthews and benefits local area charities.  The Ballroom Extravaganza (or "Dancing with the Docs" as it is sometimes known) pairs area medical professions with professional ballroom dancers.  The doctor/dancer team perform a choreographed routine and compete for top honors.  Everyone wants to come in first, but the real winners are the many local charities who benefit from this community event.  If you are a medical professional and would like to participate in next year's event click the "Contact Us" tab.
